Asserting First Amendment Rights

The year 2020 has been a rollercoaster, to begin with, and the 2020 Presidential Election has caused even more turmoil. From COVID, debates, the massive divide between the left and right, and the ongoing injustice for police brutality victims, we have found ourselves in one of the most controversial presidential campaigns of all time.

2020 has left the United States of America in such a place of unrest that the people have asserted their voices to an unprecedented extreme. My main intention is to capture this time in history for myself, but also for others. I want people to look back and remember this time period and feel the same emotion they felt in 2020 – even if their opinions have changed.

The Women’s March in Washington, DC, was a hub of people going out and having their opinions heard. People came together to demand change and work to protect women’s rights. On the other side, I witnessed Donald Trump supporters asserting their opinions on busy street corners in Savannah, GA. People across the partisan landscape are using their voices to create change and support their beliefs.
